The Green Bay Packers earned an extra week of rest but are now set to enter the postseason fray. They will battle the Los Angeles Rams for a spot in the playoff semifinals at 4:35 p.m. ET Jan. 16 at Lambeau Field. Green Bay is out to keep their five-game home win streak alive.

The Packers had enough points to win and then some against the Chicago Bears two weeks ago, taking their contest 35-16. It was another big night for Green Bay’s QB Aaron Rodgers, who passed for four TDs and 240 yards on 24 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Rodgers’ 72-yard TD bomb to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the second quarter.

The Los Angeles Rams (11-6) take their top-rated defense into Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers (13-3) in the NFC Divisional Round. The weather forecast calls for temperatures hovering around freezing with the expectation of snow when they meet at 4:35 p.m. ET Saturday. Below, we preview the Rams-Packers betting odds and lines and make our NFL picks and predictions.

So, the Packers are likely to be treated to a heavy dose of Cam Akers, who has fully taken over as the Rams’ lead back over the past several weeks. After playing scarcely through the first 12 weeks of the season — his 24 snaps and 33 percent snap share in Week 1 each represented high-water marks until Week 13, and he played just 111 snaps during that span — Akers has largely boxed Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson (now injured) out of the backfield pecking order. He’s played at least 61 percent of the snaps in each of the last five games, rushing 114 times for 471 yards and two touchdowns

Africa Cup of Nations 2021

Africa Cup of Nations 2021: Live Stream Mali vs Burkina Faso can be seen in the Eagles, who are making their fourth appearance in the tournament.

Much of the media chatter surrounding ongoings at the Emirates of late has of course centered on German international Ozil.
This comes with Mikel Arteta having doubled down on his efforts to freeze the former Real Madrid man out of his first-team setup.
Upon Spanish tactician Arteta taking the reins in north London late last year, Ozil’s initial experiences actually proved quite positive. The 32-year-old was afforded a consistent string of starts by his new boss, suggesting that he was set to prove central to the plans of Arteta moving forward.

Bizarrely, however, since football’s return on the back of the initial Covid-19 outbreak during the summer, Ozil has not received a single minute of playing time.

When signed, it would have represented a record deal for French football and with the pandemic, the hope was that with fans unable to attend matches the demand for televised games would be massive.

However, this has not been the case and Telefoot, the channel which was created to broadcast the matches, has only got 600,000 subscribers. Reportedly the company were expecting a figure closer to 3.5 million.

The company has tried to negotiate a lesser figure to be paid to compensate for the lack of subscriptions but this has not been possible and therefore the company has needed to pull out completely.

Supposedly Canal Plus, which has shown some games this season, is waiting to position itself with an offer. A statement from the LFP said they have “jointly defined the terms of an agreement which will lead to the recovery of the broadcasting rights for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches by the LFP in the near future.”

BURKINA FASO vs MALI

With the clubs in Ligue 1 now facing seemingly difficult times financially, this could have a huge impact on the possible futures of club stars. Clubs may choose to cash in on possible players to cope with the financial crisis.

Lyon are one such club. Coach Rudi Garcia was not disillusioned as to the reality of the repercussions. “It’s a double blow,” said Garcia.

“Not only did we not receive all the TV money we should have with last season’s early end, but on top of that we won’t receive the billion we had counted on when we planned to start this season early.”

Could this then have an impact on Houssem Aouar and Memphis Depay’s futures? Arsenal and Barcelona respectively were interested in both players in the summer and could now perhaps pursue a possible cut-price deal in the upcoming January window.

Northern Trust Golf

The coronavirus-abridged PGA Tour regular season is over, and now the best players in the game will begin the playoff push for the FedEx Cup title at the 2020 Northern Trust. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the event.

Northern Trust preview

The field at the Northern Trust is one of the strongest all year, featuring the top 124 players in the FedEx Cup standings. By week’s end, only the the 70 of those players will earn the right to continue the playoffs at next week’s BMW Championship, so the stakes are high.

One pro who doesn’t have to worry about advancing is Collin Morikawa, The 23-year-old star captured his first major championship at the PGA Championship, and he already has three Tour wins in his young career, including two this season. Those victories, along with his impressively consistent performance throughout the year has earned him the No. 2 spot in the FedEx Cup standings to start the playoffs.

Morikawa will play the first two rounds alongside the No. 1 and No. 3 players in the FedEx standings: Justin Thomas and Webb Simpson, respectively.

Tiger Woods is also back in action this week, coming off a disappointing T37 finish at the PGA Championship. This will be Tiger’s third start since the PGA Tour returned from the coronavirus hiatus. Because of his time off, Tiger sits at 49th in the FedEx standings, which means he’ll need a decent performance to ensure a spot in next week’s playoff event.
